High Risk Asbestos Abatement in Kitsilano Home

This is a high-risk asbestos abatement project we completed in the Kitsilano area. Our client had asbestos-containing drywall joint compound throughout their condo. They also had asbestos-containing vinyl sheet flooring throughout the home. We removed the drywall ceiling, insulation, and vinyl sheet flooring using High Risk Work Procedures which included the following:

• three stage decontamination unit with shower
• on-site DOP Testing for all Hepa equipment
• daily air monitoring and air clearance (thanks to Lotus Environmental)

Once we received our air clearance results, we were informed that our hazardous material concentrations were above and beyond what’s considered a “pass”. After the high-risk tasks were accomplished, we spent the day safely removing the containment and bags of asbestos-containing material using moderate risk work procedures.
